About Mary
Mary Barba is a poet based in New Hampshire. She has been self-publishing her poetry under the pseudonym Reflective Zines since 2013. As a woman with PTSD, Mary’s love for poetry began as she used it to process her emotions, share her experiences, and find peace with her past. She started sharing her work in hope that her story would help others by providing solidarity and empowerment through mutual experience. Mary’s work can be found in book stores, libraries, universities, and museums around the country and internationally, including the Wellcome Collection in London and the Rhode Island School of Design library. Mary has presented her lecture Healing in the Zine Community at venues such the Galleries at Lynnarts and the Watertown Public Library. Her work has been featured in the Boston Globe and Broken Pencil Magazine.
"Mary Barba is undaunted in baring her soul and mind, using her words to create a journey that is insightful, intelligent, and visceral."
